Welcome to the Lake Cushman Firewise Council (LCFC) Web Site. We are a
group dedicated to establishing Lake Cushman area as a Firewise community. To
achieve this goal we'll organize education seminars, establish a local disaster
preparation effort, and help to reduce the fuel load in our divisions and
surrounding forest.
The Lake Cushman area consists of Lake Cushman divisions, Lake Cushman resort,
Sunrise Resort, other local businesses, private land owners and public land stewards.

Volunteers are need in many areas: Education, disaster preparation, and fuel reduction.
Members will define the LCFC and determine its direction.

DNR is the state’s largest on-call fire department with 1,200 temporary and permanent employees who
fight fires on about 12.7 million acres of private and state-owned forest lands. DNR offers local
fire districts support with fire protection and safety equipment requirements.
